The company, with registered headquarters in Sabadell, Spain, is engaged in the collection, purification and distribution of water. It was incorporated in 1949. The company is the second largest operator in its sector in the province of Catalonia. The company was formed to put an end to the water shortage suffered in the Sabadell city in 1949, thus achieving sufficient water flows to supply the city. The company's range of services include: capture, potabilization, transport and distribution of drinking water, and maintenance of the corresponding installations; application of the management systems, immediately detect of any losses in the network and guarantee the stability and continuity of the services contracted; and services of sanitation, purification and revaluation of water (sewers and urban as well as industrial treatment plants; reuse systems of treated water for irrigation, industry or other uses; treatment and drying of sewage sludges; production and distribution of renewable energies; and management of the sewerage network). The company supplies water to approximately 35 municipalities, with an area of distribution of approximately 700 sq.km. Furthermore, the company also manages several wastewater treatment and seawater desalinization plants and provides services to an overall population of approximately 760,000 inhabitants.
